Mr. Eardley Perera is a senior member and graduate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, with over 45 years of experience in Management. He has undergone Management training in the UK, Sweden, South Korea, India, the Philippines and Singapore. He retired from active executive positions in 2005.
Currently, he is a Non-Executive Director of a few public companies: First Capital PLC, Janashakthi PLC., Janashakthi Insurance PLC and Kelsey Development PLC. In addition he is a Non-Executive Director of two private companies – Sting Consultants (Private) Limited and Brand Finance Lanka (Private) Limited. He is a member on the Board of Study of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also on the Advisory Boards of Aquinas University College and the Benedict XVI Catholic Institute of Higher Education. Mr. Perera continues to be actively engaged in Management education and consultancy.
He currently serves as the Managing Director of First Capital Holdings PLC and its subsidiaries. He has a background in Finance and substantial experience and expertise of over 25 years, during which he has executed a range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and business valuations.
With professional qualifications in Finance as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA), UK, a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) and an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD, France, his insights will be very valuable to the company in developing strategies for expansion, acquisitions and business collaboration.
Mr. Schaffter was formerly the Managing Director of Kelsey Developments PLC and Dunamis Capital PLC.
Mr. Ramesh Schaffter, a versatile personality counting almost three decades of experience in Finance & Marketing, was appointed to the Board of Janashakthi PLC in 2002 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He was appointed to the Board of Janashakthi Insurance PLC in 2004, having served as Secretary to the Board since the inception of the Company in 1994 - a position he held untill 2017. He also serves on the Board of Orient Finance PLC and several unlisted Companies.
A social entrepreneur and life coach, he is also an accomplished public speaker and a multiple award winner at National and International Level Toastmasters' Contests.
He is also a former President of Habitat for Humanity - Sri Lanka and a former Board Member of World Vision for Sri Lanka.
Mr. Prakash Schaffter is the Cambridge educated Executive Chairman of Janashakthi Insurance PLC. He has over three decades of experience in the Insurance industry in both Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. He led Janashakthi from 2006, through a growth phase that saw Janashakthi become the third largest Non Life Insurer, acquire the Non Life segment of AIA Insurance Lanka and in 2018, engage in the divestment of Janashakthi's Non Life segment.
Mr. Schaffter is a former President of the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka and has also served as President of the Young Presidents Organization of Sri Lanka. He has been amongst the youngest Fellow Members of the Charted Insurance Institute. He is a former Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket, having served on three separate occasions on Interim Committees appointed by the Government. Mr. Schaffter currently serves on the Boards of Janashakthi PLC, First Capital Holdings PLC, Kelsey Developments PLC and Orient Finance PLC and several unlisted Companies. He is also a former Director of Bank of Ceylon.
Mr. Chandana de Silva has 25 years of managerial and financial experience acquired in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. He held several senior management positions including that of Chief Financial Officer of a Nasdaq quoted data communication services company during his 23 years of work experience in the UK. After moving back to Sri Lanka in 2002, he worked at MAS Holdings in a variety of roles and established a group supply chain management function, set up the MAS training center and was the Chief Executive Officer of the MAS Investment Division until his departure in 2011. Since then he has served as a consultant specializing in institution building, good governance, talent management and planning for success in family businesses. He serves as a mentor to individuals in senior management roles. Mr. de Silva is an Independent Director on the Boards of First Capital Holdings PLC and its subsidiaries, Kelsey Developments PLC, Eureka Technologies (Pvt) Limited, 24/7 Techies (Pvt) Limited, and Bairaha Farms PLC.
Mr. de Silva is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales as well as in Sri Lanka and holds a Degree in Mathematics and Management from the University of London.
Ms. Roshni Fernando has over 25 years of experience in management, marketing, brand building and managing customer experience across many sectors. Currently, she serves as a Director of Innosolve Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., a start-up concentrating on mobility, sustainability and strategic consulting. She also serves as a Mentor at Hatchworks (Pvt) Ltd. and as a consultant to Tea & Herb, Lanka Environment Foundation.
Ms. Fernando holds a BSc in Management Science and Quantitative Methods from Loughborough University School of Business and Economics. She is also certified in Customer Loyalty from the Kellogg’s School of Management, North Western University and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business from Columbia Business School.
ACM Gagan Bulathsinghala is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College at Air University (United States Air Force) Alabama, USA and the prestigious National Defence College (India) New Delhi. In addition, he possesses Post graduate degrees, Master of Philosophy in Defence and Strategic Studies from University of Madras India and Master of Science in Defence Studies in Management from General Sir John Kothalawala Defence University, Sri Lanka. He is a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, Hawaii, the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies and National Defence University, USA.
He was appointed as the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force in 2015 and was promoted to the rank of Air Marshal. He was subsequently promoted to the rank of Air Chief Marshal from 12th September 2016. He was the former Sri Lanka Ambassador to Afghanistan.
Mr. Arul Sivagananathan holds a BSc Engineering degree from the University of London, UK and an MBA from Cranfield University, UK. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.
Mr. Sivagananathan was appointed to Hayleys Group Management Committee (GMC) as the Managing Director of Hayleys Business Solutions and Hayleys Industrial Solutions. He was instrumental in winning large BPO deals for his organisation. He has a rare combination of being an Engineer and an Accountant. Former Senior Vice President of WNS, A NYSE listed BPO. He headed the operations for Finance and Accounting across India and Sri Lanka and managed over 2,000 accounting professionals. He is also a part time lecturer at the PIM.
Mr. Lalinda Kalubowila is a management professional with over 12 years of expertise in leadership and management within the context of strategic planning, operations, establishing new businesses, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions. He commenced his career as an Environmental Engineer at the China Harbour Engineering Company in 2006 and joined the Walkers CML Group in 2008, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Walkers CML Properties and Vice President of MTD Walkers PLC.
Mr. Kalubowila holds a degree in BSc (Hons.) Engineering from the University of Moratuwa and a Master of Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
